This Alphabet Card Set set offers an educational journey through colonial history, featuring portraits and quotes from formerly enslaved individuals. This card set is created, after Charmaine encountered the collection of photographs and interviews found in the Library of Congress, of "Born in Slavery: Slave Narratives from the Federal Writers' Project." This project, conducted between 1936 and 1938, documented the stories of over 2,300 formerly enslaved individuals, giving them a voice and filling a void in our historical accounts.

The Alphabet Card Set serves as a means to unlock forgotten narratives, inviting viewers to reflect, understand, and engage with the dark history of enslavement. By amplifying the voices of those who have been silenced, this project aims to contribute to a more comprehensive and inclusive understanding of our collective history.
